The CKNW Kids' Fund relies on the generosity of our donors and sponsors throughout the year, with the bulk of the funding that we distribute back into the community being raised every winter on our annual 14-hour live Pledge Day radio-thon, supported by CKNW 980 and its listeners. Staff and volunteers of all ages and backgrounds gather together in the spirit of the holidays for the event, welcoming both donors and recipients to share their stories for a live broadcast on 980 CKNW.
We invite you to participate in this year’s Pledge Day on November 28th 2023 from 5:30am to 7:00pm. Despite all the challenges we faced last year, Pledge Day 2022 was a great success, and with your help we hope to make this year even better! We couldn’t be more grateful to all the donors, sponsors, production team, volunteers, hosts, and of course, the amazing families who help make this special day such a success.

For the past 75+ years, CKNW Kids' Fund has been able to grant over $31 million to more than 250,000 children living with challenges in BC communities, and the organizations that support them, by providing aid such as:
Specialized medical equipment (e.g. wheelchairs, hearing aids, accessible van conversions)
Innovative therapies (e.g. speech therapy, therapeutic horseback riding, music therapy)
Programs for at-risk youth (Learning Disabilities Society, Canucks Autism Network, Children’s Heart Network)
Tuition to integrated education and clinical programs
Annual Picnic at Playland for 3,500 students with special needs
